Gedichte Von Johanna Ambrosius, Ambrosius, Johanna
61 Ambrosius, Johanna Gedichte Von Johanna Ambrosius
Superb example of pictorial cover, with the front cover having a pastoral design that includes an elaborate scroll. The scroll and elaborate titles are done with extremely bright gilt. The spine is somewhat soiled and rubbed with titles being barely readable. Front hinge is starting to crack. Endpapers have a beautiful white and gray and bright gilt daisy and vine design. Frontispiece has a portrait of Johanna Ambrosius along with a photo of her barn, protected by a tissue guard. Contents are excellent; pages are crisp and tight, book appears unread. Text is in the original German script. A beautiful copy. Unfortunately, the attached photo does not begin to do justice to the very fine gilt work on the front cover. This is the 36th edition, appearing just three years after the first edition. . A book of poetry, printed in German script. . 8vo - 8" to 9" tall. 125 pages. C1 Konigsberg.
