This is a beautiful copy, with Michener's signature neatly written on the half-title page. . Girard Bank 1970 First Edition Hardcover Near Fine with no dust jacket
Textured olive slipcase is clean and solid but has some imperfections where the paper cover was glued to the cardboard, small red stain on back panel. Black lettering on spine of book is slightly rubbed, slight corner bump. . Environmental treatise by the great Michener. This is the true first edition, published by and for the Girard Bank, prior to the Lippincott edition. It also contains the beautiful six paintings by James Wyeth, not present in the Lippincott edition. Promotional slip from the Girard Bank, corner badly creased, is laid in. . Octavo - 8vo. 85 pages
