Spine is faded to brown, margins of boards are faded brown, the rest being olive. Gilt is bright on front cover, dulled on spine. Two-inch crack in front hinge, an odd inscription written in pencil on ffep, two names written on half-title page in ink. Gilt top edge is somewhat soiled and dulled. Binding is tight, pages clean. . Another segment of the autobiography of Henry James, this concerning his youth. Brother William was the scientist and philosopher who was his elder by one year.
