Owner name written at top of title page, mild corner bump, no other defects. . The purpose of the Apollo 11 mission was to land men on the surface of the moon and to return them safely to Earth. The pilots were Michael Collins, Command Module pilot; and Buzz Aldrin, Lunar Module pilot. As Commander Neil Armstrong so memorably said, as he stepped onto the moon's surface, "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind. " This is the mission report of the Apollo 11 flight. Laid in is a SIGNED LETTER from Christopher Kraft, then Director of the Johnson Space Center, dated April 24, 1973, to "The Apollo Team," thanking the members and presenting the report to them.
