A little scuffing to black cloth covers, a few small and light stains to gold horizontal band across the middle third of covers and spine, faint dampstain to bottom corner of back cover. Owner name on first endpaper. . The Golden Age of Radio extends roughly from the early 1920s to the late 1950s, until television replaced radio as the primary medium of home entertainment. Among the variety of formats and genres during this period was the radio play -- dramas enacted on the radio, complete with sound effects. The actors stood in front of microphones and read their parts, and the rest was left to the imagination of the listener. This book contains three radio plays -- that is, theatrical productions written to be read aloud, often live, on the radio. Their author was Arch Oboler, recognized as one of the most important authors of radio plays. Book is bound in black and gold cloth.
