Olive buckram covers with bright gilt titles to front cover and spine, spine somewhat faded. Minor insect damage, where the color was nibbled off the covers, foxing to page ends. Hinges starting to crack but binding is tight and solid. Bookplate of former owner to both pastedowns, some spotting and soil to endpapers. Contents are excellent; pages are clean and unmarked. . Much reprinted history of the last four decades of Colonial Southwest Virginia. Includes nine folding maps and dozens of other illustrations. With a highly detailed index, the book is invaluable for genealogical research related to the area.
